Artist's Statement/Biography
Sean Morris is a Kingston artist and book illustrator. He works in a variety of mediums, but is most comfortable with inks and acrylics.
His work is not photorealistic, but is representational, and often symbolic.
Common themes within his work include technology, contemporary mythologies, and man’s interaction with nature.
Sean is currently working on illustrations for a children’s book by a local author, and is developing two series of paintings, one based on dream imagery, and and the other on technology. His work “Communication” recently won 2nd place in the 2008 K.A.C. juried exhibition.
Sean has studied art at York University and Queen’s, and is a graduate of the QECVI Creative Arts Program. He is employed as a civil servant in the field of computing and information technology.
